Sparks of Kindness

Creating meaningful experiences that inspire and empower underserved youth.

At Aspen Spark, we dedicate our resources and collaborate with community partners to create meaningful experiences that foster connection, inspiration, and learning to underserved youth. Through unforgettable outings, we aim to ignite confidence, curiosity, and hope for a brighter future.

These opportunities offer more than just fun – they spark new perspectives.  By meeting new people, engaging face-to-face, asking questions, young people practice connecting with one another (not just a screen), building social-emotional skills, resilience, and even discovering something new.  For most, it’s a chance they wouldn’t normally get—an opening to something brighter.

  • Our signature program:  Sparks of Kindness includes small acts and extraordinary outings.
  • More than experiences:  Each spark isn’t just about going to special places – it’s about creating moments that last a lifetime while connecting fun to real-world learning.
  • Real impact:  Sparks are designed to help young people feel seen, valued, and inspired.

Sparking Kindness Program Launch:  Dodgers Dream Day

September 2025

We launched our Sparks of Kindness initiative by teaming up with the Los Angeles Dodgers to create a once-in-a-lifetime experience for homeless and at-risk youth. Dodgers Dream Day blended fun, belonging, and learning through an unforgettable outing to Dodgers Stadium.

Alongside our community partners, Angel’s Flight and The Bible Tabernacle – local Los Angeles shelters – we took a group of young people for an all-access VIP experience -touring the stadium that’s filled with artifacts, photos and the team’s rich history; stepping behind-the-scenes; watching batting practice up close; and meeting Stan Kasten, President and CEO of the Dodgers. As he shared what it takes to run a team off the field – and even taught them how to compute a batting average – curiosity turned into confidence and opened their eyes to what’s possible.

Everyday life can be stressful for any young person, but especially for those living in unstable housing. Behind every experience are moments that matter- moments that help youth feel seen, valued, capable of dreaming big.

Shine Away

October 2025

One spark often lights another!  We aim to carry that momentum forward with every experience we create.

America (13) and Lucia (17), a rising high school graduate, first joined us at Dodgers Dream Day, where hearing them speak thoughtfully about their hopes for the future sparked the idea to invite them to Shine Away, Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine event. Both girls shared a strong desire to change the cycle of their current circumstances – and we saw an opportunity to help nurture that drive.

At Shine Away, Lucia and America were surrounded by inspiring women of all ages and engaged in mentorship, storytelling, and meaningful, real-world connection. They were selected to be interviewed by Reese’s Book Club, where they shared the books that have most impacted them, an experience led by one of their role models, actress and author, Raegan Revord.

The weekend encouraged reflection, built confidence, and reminded them that their voices, dreams, and stories matter.

PWHL and Good Projects DC: Future Me

January 2026

“This game is inspiring—you can strive to be who you want to be. Our girls are taking that home today.”
— Ms. T, Teen Program Leader

We welcomed girls ages 13–17 from Good Projects DC to their first-ever professional women’s hockey game during the PWHL Takeover Tour at Capital One Arena – an experience centered on one powerful theme: “Future Me. Who do you want to be?”

Inspired by elite women athletes, the girls reflected on their own dreams and sparks guiding their futures. To encourage learning beyond a screen, each participant received a copy of “As Fast As Her” by Kendall Coyne Schofield, professional hockey player and member of the 2026 U.S. Women’s Olympic Women’s Hockey Team.

The girls were accompanied by Ms. T from King-Greenleaf Recreational Center, Good Projects DC learning hub that provides free after-school programs focused on academic excellence, tutoring, and mentorship for youth in Ward 6 of Washington, D.C.
